Autonomous Driving
This course aims to provide students the knowledge needed to design, control, optimize and manufacture an autonomous vehicle (AV). During this course, you will learn about the different types of AVs with different levels of vehicle automation, and key modules of an AV, including motion control and decision-making system, sensors and perception, human-machine interaction system. Besides, hot topics in related areas, such as connected vehicles and intelligent transportation systems, artificial intelligence with applications in autonomous driving, and ethics, safety and regulation issues will be discussed. In particular, human-in-the-loop experiments will be provided to students on a driving simulator for them to better experience AV technology. After having gained understanding of methods and applications, student will work on group research project. The project will allow them to dive deeper into an area of specific interest, taking the theory from the taught modules and joining it with self-practice and exploration.
