Human Motivation
In this course, we will investigate the development, causes, and implications around the psychology of human motivation. We will learn about current knowledge and theory in human motivation by reading and discussing about scientific journal articles and textbook material from the areas of social, personality, and biological psychology. We will focus on the three primary areas of human and social motivation:
Affiliation (why we are driven to love), Power (why we are driven to influence and dominate others), and Achievement (why we are driven to perform to the best of our abilities). This course is a writing and discussion oriented course and requires active in-class participation
