NTU Results Release Date: When Grades Come Out and How to Check Your GPA

Results timing at Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is one of the most searched questions each semester. This guide sets out the official release windows, where to see your grades and CGPA, and the deadline for asking for a review.

Quick summary: NTU expects to release course results in end December or early January for Semester 1 and end May or early June for Semester 2. Special Term results follow in August. A review request must be submitted through the Student Intranet within 3 calendar days of release.

NTU results release dates

These come from NTU’s Schedule of Key Academic Activities for undergraduate programmes. NTU marks the course results row as an expected release, so the exact day can shift.

Activity Semester 1 Semester 2 Special Term
Expected release of course results End December or early January End May or early June August
Declaration period for Flexible Grading Option Early January Early June August

The Flexible Grading Option declaration opens soon after results are out, so read your grades first, then decide. See the NTU FGO and S/U guide and the FGO optimiser guide before you declare.

Plan your CGPA before and after results

You do not have to wait for results to see where you stand. The NTUMods CGPA Planner takes your current CGPA and remaining AU, or your uploaded transcript, and shows the average grade you need to reach Merit, Distinction or Highest Distinction. Once results are out, the FGO Optimiser shows which modules to Flexible-Grade for the highest CGPA before the declaration window closes. Both run in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

Where to check your results, GPA and CGPA

  • Degree audit. Released grades flow into your degree audit once processed, along with whether each requirement is fulfilled.
  • Student intranet. Your academic record is available through the student intranet after you sign in with your NTU network account. Postgraduate students often receive an email from their school with a link as well.
  • Transcript. The transcript is the official permanent academic record, listing all courses and grades. Request it through NTU’s Self-help Transcript System.
  • NTULearn. Grades on NTULearn are usually for individual assessments only. They do not show your official semester result or CGPA.

All of these links are collected in NTU Student Links.

How NTU GPA and CGPA work

NTU uses a 5.0 grade point scale. Your semester GPA covers modules taken that semester, and your CGPA is the cumulative weighted average across all graded modules. Honours classes depend on the final CGPA. The full grade table and class bands are in NTU Honours Classification and CGPA, and you can project your CGPA with the NTU CGPA Planner guide.

Some schools publish academic warning and probation rules tied to CGPA. For example, one NTU school guide lists an academic warning if the CGPA falls below 2.00 in a semester. Check the rules for your own school and programme rather than relying on a general figure.

Request a review of your results

NTU requires all requests for review of course results to be submitted through the Student Intranet within 3 calendar days from the date of release. The window is short, so check your results on the day they come out if you think there may be an error.

If you are in your final semester

Two points from the same NTU schedule matter for graduating students:

  • Verify any changes to your name, citizenship, NRIC or passport number, or date of birth before final results are released. Those particulars are frozen in the system and appear on your final transcript and degree certificate.
  • To join the convocation, the results of your final semester and any attachment or exchange programme must reach the Office of Academic Services by end May. Check the convocation website, which NTU updates each May.
