NTU Network Account: Password Reset, Login Format and Student Intranet
Almost every Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) system uses one login: your network account. That includes NTULearn, STARS, your degree audit, Wi-Fi and student email. This guide explains the login formats, how to change or reset the password, and where the student intranet fits in.
Quick summary: Change or reset your password at NTU’s password page at pwd.ntu.edu.sg. Choose the Student domain. If a page asks for a full identity, use
username@student.main.ntu.edu.sg.
Which login format to use
Different NTU systems ask for your account in different ways.
| System | Format |
|---|---|
| NTULearn, Microsoft sign-in | username@student.main.ntu.edu.sg for students, username@staff.main.ntu.edu.sg for staff |
| STARS and degree audit (LDAP login) | Network username, with the domain set to Student |
| NTU email | Your NTU email address |
If a login fails, first check that you picked the right domain and did not use a personal email address.
How to change your NTU password
- Open pwd.ntu.edu.sg.
- Pick the correct option. NTU separates the Office 365 EDU email password for students and alumni from the network account password.
- For a network account, select the domain Student and enter your username and current password.
- Enter the new password twice and submit. NTU password rules include that it must not contain your username or part of your display name.
You can also use the Update Password page on the NTU sign-in service, which offers Change Password and Reset Password tabs for accounts in the @student.main.ntu.edu.sg format.
What to do if you forgot your password or your account is locked
Use the Reset Password option on the same pages, which asks you to verify your identity. If the self-service reset does not work, or your account stays locked, contact the NTU IT help desk through the password page. Passwords can take a few minutes to sync across systems, so wait before retrying NTULearn after a change.
Where is the NTU student intranet?
The student intranet is NTU’s hub for personal academic records, forms and requests. It sits behind a Microsoft sign-in, using your network account in the full format above. From there you can reach the degree audit, results, the Online Appeal System for course appeals, and library resources such as the exam question papers site.
The full list of portals is in NTU Student Links, and every link is also on the NTUMods Links page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change my NTULearn password?
NTULearn uses your NTU network account, so you change it at the NTU password page, not inside NTULearn. The new password applies to NTULearn, STARS and email after it syncs.
What is my NTU username format?
Your network username. If a Microsoft sign-in asks for a full identity, use username@student.main.ntu.edu.sg as a student.
What is the NTU LDAP login?
The LDAP login is the older sign-in page used by STARS and the degree audit. It takes your network username and password with the domain set to Student.
Why can I not log in even though my password is correct?
Check that you selected the Student domain, that you are not using a personal email, and that a recent password change has had time to sync.
What is the NTU student intranet?
It is the portal behind your NTU Microsoft sign-in where you reach academic records, requests and appeals. Sign in with your network account.
