Last offered — AY2017/2018 Semester 2

The final course focuses on the growing significance of sport as a tool of nation building in Singapore. A social history of sport and physical activity in Singapore before and after independence provides a framework for understanding how sport and national identity have become interwoven. This course traces the involvement of government in the creation of a society that increasingly values sport as a complementary aspect of national growth and development.
