Environmental Exercise Physiology

The objective of this course is to examine the responses and adaptations of the human body to exercise under different environmental conditions. The course content will: Describe how the body produces heat and how different environmental conditions affect heat loss. Discuss the responses of the body to exercise in the heat and the need for fluid. Examine how the body adapts to exercise in the cold and at altitude. Examine the stresses to the body during diving. Describe the changes to the body during microgravity. Examine how air pollution affects exercising individuals.
