To "think sociologically" about sport which are closely connected with the Singapore context. To examine the cultural foundations of sport, primarily from a Singapore perspective, but also considering international comparisons. To understand and critically evaluate social structures surrounding sport and culture by exploring concepts, theories, and studies (the body of knowledge) in the field of Sociology of Sport. To review diverse social phenomena relating to sport that are experienced (seeing, hearing, feeling, and doing) in the real world using "sociological imagination". To articulate and present ideas and knowledge relating to sport in Singapore.
