The course will cover topical sport science themes relevant to athletic performance, including doping and drug use and the role of sleep in sport performance. In relation to local athletes the effects of Ramadan on sport performance will be evaluated. From the sport management perspective, emerging topics related to sport marketing in social media and video games and the role and effectiveness of sport sponsorship will be evaluated. The organisation of major sporting events will also be discussed which is relevant to the recent major sport events (Formula 1, SEA Games) held in Singapore.
