The course aims to provide basic understanding at the undergraduate mechanical engineering level the design of mechanical services to a modern building. These services include fire protection, vertical transportation, and water services. The course draws upon the fundamental knowledge of engineering sciences, in particular, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics to explain the design principles governing the services.
