This course aims to introduce students to the application of state-of-the-art genome editing techniques. In this course you will learn the theoretical background of the various molecular tools employed today to genetically modify eukaryotic genomes. These tools include site-specific DNA recombinases and programmable DNA nucleases. You will be asked to review primary literature and summarize the current technologies. You will learn in practical sessions how to modify a gene in human cells and how to analyze successful genome engineering approaches.
