This course is offered to 4th year aerospace students. The course provides a deeper knowledge of applied and industrial aerodynamics. During the course, you will first review the fundamentals of ideal aerodynamics and then extend the scope to include computation of aerodynamic forces for arbitrary streamlined bodies using different panel methods. The course will also cover an introduction to boundary layer corrections for estimation of drag for laminar and turbulent flows. As relevant flying vehicles are operating in transitions states, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of ideal unsteady aerodynamics. You will also cover fundamentals of wind energy conversion devices as an applied industrial aerodynamics example. During the module you will be introduced to several methods, which are routinely used as part of research and development in aerodynamics.
