Special Topics In Youth Work Guidance
Welcome to 'Introduction to Art as Therapy,' a course specifically crafted for undergraduate students seeking to explore the therapeutic dimensions of art creation and self-care. In this unique educational experience, students will actively immerse themselves in the creative process, akin to being participants in a group art therapy session.
Students will embark on a personal journey of self-discovery, guided by activities such as maintaining individual art journals for deep self-reflection and experimenting with a variety of art mediums. The goal is to cultivate self-awareness and a profound understanding of the healing potential of artistic expression. Regular group discussions and engaging collaborative activities will be integral to this transformative experience, fostering a shared learning environment that encourages students to express themselves genuinely.
While students are encouraged to procure their personal art journals, drawing, and coloring materials, the school will provide most of the required art supplies.
Important Note: Since it's an experiential art as therapy training, students will have the opportunity to share personal experiences and emotions within the group setting. It is crucial for all students to approach these shared moments with respect and confidentiality.
