This course is an unrestricted elective (UE) for any undergraduate student who already possess a level of proficiency in the language equivalent to LM5003. Through task-based learning and flipped classroom approaches, LM5004 will teach you the standards of Malay language to the level of B1.1 (CEFR). Through a facilitation and learner-centric teaching approach, you will further develop your Malay language ability at a lower-intermediate level. You will train the four fundamental language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This course will enhance your understanding of the Malay language and culture through a variety of classroom discussions and presentations. Thus, this course will be beneficial for you to travel, study and work in Malaysia or Indonesia or for Malay companies. Learning Malay also makes you more employable in a globalised economy.
