What are we required to do? Who are we required to be? And why are we required to do these things or be these types of people? Ethical theories attempt to systematically nswer these questions. In this course, we will examine the most promising such theories, evaluating each for their strengths and weaknesses. Th is course is suitable for those who want to investigate ethics in a philosophically rigorous manner. By the end of the course, you'l l have a sense of the complexities involved in working out an ethical theory.
