This class will first cover traditional theories and basic concepts in environmental philosophy. It will then go on to consider recent developments and debates on the environment. It will examine various theories such as Environmental Economics, Land Ethics, Deep Ecology, Ecofeminism, and Social Ecology. Students will be encouraged to reflect on their own and to develop their own philosophical thinking in regard to the environment.
