This course is designed to help students communicate more effectively. Topics include: The Communication Process - communication as a process, tools for successful communication, perceptions, critical thinking and reasoning; Mastering Successful Communication - importance of listening, negotiating meaning in different contexts, appropriate language in oral and written communication, understanding and using nonverbal cues and writing specific genres; Building Good Relationships - developing good interpersonal relationships, handling diversity, creating good communication climates and working in groups and teams; Speaking with Credibility and Confidence - planning and delivering speeches and handling the selection interview.This course is Pass/Fail graded.
