This course introduces you to the history of Maritime Asia in the longue duree. Through this course, you will become familiar with and understand the major trends, debates, concepts and theories in the field of Maritime Asia, and the different ways in which the sea had shaped Asian history. You will also be able to apply these concepts, as you analyze and evaluate the different features of Maritime Asia from the pre-modern to the modern period. This course will also allow you to develop and produce new original work in the history of Maritime Asia.
