This course is designed for students who are already able to speak Mandarin in everyday life situations but are seeking to improve their practical language skills in formal settings, including public, business and professional situations. Through lively authentic teaching materials (print/non-print), such as newspapers, media reports, web resources, and clips of interviews, TV shows and movies, etc., you will be extensively exposed to advanced Chinese language and multiple topics reflecting society, culture and economics. The course will be conducted in a highly interactive mode. You will be motivated to take active participation in carefully designed activities including forum-like tutorials, group discussions, presentations, debates, group project, etc. The course aims to not only train you to be professional in Mandarin listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, but also to cultivate a higher degree of social and cultural sensitivity.
