This course introduces students to the history of Product Design. It focuses on presenting an understanding of objects in the context of history and emphasizes the relationship between designed objects, technology and society. This course will emphasize the primacy of ideas over the objects that they inform. The student will get an overview of the relationship between art and industry, and the impacts of new products on individuals, society and the environment.
