Security Operations

The aim of this course is to provide students with a solid foundation in the essential technologies and techniques used in web development. It will cover the core concepts of web architecture, web technologies, client-side and server-side programming. Through practical case studies and hands-on applications, students will develop the skills necessary to design, implement, and manage modern web applications.

This course equips you with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity operations, centred on threat detection, incident response, and the tools and techniques used in modern Security Operations Centres (SOCs). You will learn to identify and analyse diverse cyber threats and attack vectors, develop and execute incident response plans, and leverage industry-standard platforms such as XDR, SIEM, and SOAR to monitor, detect, and respond to security events in real time. The course also covers threat intelligence integration, proactive threat hunting, cloud security operations, and legal and regulatory compliance frameworks. A distinctive feature of this course is its focus on emerging trends-specifically the role of Agentic AI and automation in transforming security operations-preparing you for the evolving demands of the cybersecurity profession. This course is designed for students pursuing careers in cybersecurity operations, SOC analysis, incident response, and security engineering, and provides the practical skills and conceptual grounding needed to defend organizations against sophisticated and persistent threats.
