AY2017/2018 Semester 1
This course will highlight how the complexity of biological systems, combined with traditional engineering approaches, results in the emergence of new design principles for synthetic biology. It will also introduce many exciting examples of practical applications of synthetic biology. 1. Various state-of-the-art experimental and computational tools for synthetic biology. 2. A number of important applications of synthetic biology in both basic and applied biological research. 3. A few ambitious synthetic biology efforts in which tremendous challenges and opportunities coexist.
