To critically examine the significance of sport to different groups of people in Singapore To study different theoretical approaches to the sociology of sport. To describe and analyse the historical trends affecting sport in general and physical activity in Singapore specifically To develop analytical powers through interaction and discussion To increase personal factual knowledge of sport through reading and access to alternative forms of sport information
