The purpose of this course is to give the students in sport management department a conceptual foundation for understanding the law and its relationship to sport, recreation, and physical activities. The course explores the kinds of legal problems faced in the day-to-day operations of an athletic, sport program, physical education, and recreational activities into common sense perspective that is easily understood and remembered. It is not intended to teach all there is known about the law but instead to serve as an introduction to areas of law that most often have an impact on administrators, practitioners, and sport industry.
