Sport Biomechanics Ii
AY2015/2016 Semester 1
This course introduces participants to quantitative methods for determining mechanical parameters of movement, namely linear and angular kinematics and kinetics. Through laboratory work, participants will also learn about the operation of the equipment associated with the measuring techniques in sports biomechanics. Participants will be introduced to the theory governing these measurement techniques and studies that use of these measurement techniques. The aim of the course is to enable participants to effectively analyse movement, explain causes of observed effects and to correct errors in physical performance in sports through the use of these quantitative methods. Participants should have completed the mechanical and anatomical bases of human motion before enrolling for this course.
