AY2015/2016 Semester 1
A lecture/demonstration laboratory course is designed for the study of selected topics of exercise physiology. The principles of nutrition applied to sports performance and exercise will also be included. Emphasis will be placed on energy release and substrate utilization, energy metabolism during exercise, fluid intake and athletic performance, ergogenic aids, vitamins and minerals, the pre-game meal, sports anemia, nutritional considerations for the diabetic individual, lipid metabolism and coronary heart disease.
