Introduction To Sport Management

AY2014/2015 Semester 1

The module introduces students to the field of sport management. Definitions of sport management will be presented and the underlying knowledge areas of each of the two definitions will be presented. Students will be given the opportunity to examine further current developments in sport management and relate this trends and developments to their study and skill development. Essential topics in this module include definitions of sport management, careers in sport management, essential skills and roles of the sport manager, management functions, areas of study in sport management, and current trends in sport management.
