Engineering Science II serves as an introductory course for all Renaissance students in year 2. It aims to equip students with a firm foundation and superior problem-solving skills in the science of chemistry and biology. As an introductory course, it exposes the student to a wide spectrum of technical concepts. The topics include: redox processes, electrochemistry, energy storage, transition metal chemistry of metal complexes, spectroscopy analytical chemistry , cell growth kinetics, bioreactor design, and bioprocess engineering, biomechanics, molecular recognition, systems physiology, spectroscopy and pharmacokinetics. Student will also be introduced to the relevant fundamentals of energy, biology and medicine, including applications such as fuel cells, regenerative medicine, biosensors and artificial organ devices.
