Materials And Manufacturing Engineering
AY2015/2016 Semester 1
This course provides an essential foundation to subsequent courses in the curriculum. As well as providing fundamental description of the underlying material science concepts, it enables the student to appreciate how these factors relate to the development of mechanical properties, functional properties, as well as manufacturing processes. A pivotal objective in the course is environmental awareness and responsibility for material choice. Both the materials and manufacturing factors are drawn together by a thematic study of the i-PAD, as well as a hands-on session in a semiconductor laboratory.
