Italian Language Level
AY2016/2017 Semester 1
This 48-hour Italian course is a continuation of the previous two levels, where more verb tenses in the past and new verb tenses in the future are introduced, along with extensive vocabulary, grammar and expressions. This course focuses on communication and Italian is the main language of instruction in the classroom: role-plays, team-work and project works will engage the students in meaningful and authentic communicative activities. Throughout the course, students will learn to use more complex grammar and structures to express personal experiences on everyday issues. Topics include shopping, clothing, travelling, advertisement, food, establishing personal contacts, parties, festivals and celebrations. Through audio-visual and written materials, students will be exposed to the Italian culture, broadening their knowledge on Italian customs and traditions. This course is equal to the proficiency level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
