Chinese Language Level

AY2015/2016 Semester 2

This course is designed for beginners with no previous knowledge of the Chinese Language. It is theme-based and includes communicative activities which help learners develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The focus is on training learners in the most basic functions such as greetings and introductions. At the same time, the course emphasizes the systematic study of the Chinese characters and phonetics. A computer aided self-learning component is also introduced to reinforce classroom learning outcomes and hone the learners' ability for autonomous learning.
