Arabic Language Level
AY2016/2017 Semester 2
This course is designed as a continuation from the Arabic Language Level 2 course, and for those who have mastered basic grammar with knowledge of at least 1000 and 500 words. The course focuses mainly on developing the learners? conversational skills, vocabulary and and idiomatic sentences necessary to conduct a conversation/discussion related to daily life, whether at study or at work. Emphasis is also given to learning the appropriate levels of speech according to the formality or informality of the situation. More and more complex sentences will be introduced so that students are able to deal with handling conversations, narratives and interactions of varying length and complexity. Hence, the course will provide students with training in speech acts in various contexts.
