AY2016/2017 Semester 1
Happiness is usually taken as the ultimate goal of life. But what is happiness? This course introduces the student to a variety of philosophical themes on the subject of happiness by reading texts from ancient to contemporary. The readings, class lectures, and class discussions will provide a foundation for understanding happiness in various perspectives. Students are encouraged to develop their own philosophy of happiness, which will be presented, written about, and debated in class.
