AY2021/2022 Semester 2

This course aims to help you develop your writing and presentation skills. It will provide practice for honing key skills related to analyzing texts, locating key ideas and summarizing, paraphrasing quoting and citing. You will also become familiar with using lens texts to develop a strong research question that reveals something new about a primary text. You will consider interdisciplinary approaches to writing essays and look at specific aspects of style and how this can impact the presentation of your ideas. This course is for NTU Humanities students who have already completed either HW0111 or HW0105. The course focuses on academic writing skills and practices that will help you develop your writing in the Humanities as you navigate your degree. However, many of the key ideas in this course have applications for writing in professional contexts such as journalism.
