AY2014/2015 Semester 2

A survey of Chinese literature in Singapore and Malaysia since the early 20th century, this subject examines major trends in literary writing such as the influence of the May Fourth Cultural Movement, political and cultural identities, debate on realism and modernism, social engagement and cultural reflections, the influence of Hong Kong and Taiwanese literature, etc., through close reading of works by important writers.
