In the first part of the course, we will gradually introduce the key concepts of biodegradation, detoxification, biofilms, and fate of environmental contaminants. The second part of the course will include two tutorials: 1) Quantitative solution of environmental biotechnology problems; 2)Group presentation of a bioremediation case study. In the third part of the course, various mature and emerging applications of environmental biotechnology will be discussed.
