Introduction To Materials For Electronics

The subject of materials for electronics has been one of the key drivers for the advancement of Science and Technology. This course aims to build the foundation and inspire the interest of freshmen enrolled in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) after completing the first semester common engineering curriculum. This course will focus on fundamental concepts and basic principles that are related to the materials for electronics and the latest progress in this field. It is expected that by the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation in materials for electronics, and be well-prepared for further study in the subsequent courses in EEE. Contents: Introduction to materials science and engineering. Atomic structure and interatomic bonding. Structure of crystalline solids and semiconductor materials. Thermal properties. Electrical properties. Optical properties. Magnetic properties.
