Advanced Directing For Film

AY2015/2016 Semester 2

This course will develop in the student the ability to make unique and coherent directorial choices as well as their voice as a cinematic auteur. Consisting of research and studio work, this course builds on the techniques learned in directing for film. This course expands the students? range of performance technique, emphasizing on informed technical choices that impact cinematic language. Students will be expected to write their own original screenplay, and translate the film from script to screen, thereby developing the students? ability to shape on-screen performance, to capture performance effectively through shot design and sequencing, and to create a meaningful cinematic narrative.
