Audio PostProduction For Film
AY2018/2019 Semester 1
This studio course provides a study of the techniques and processes of recording sound (on location and in studio), the use of sound effects libraries, the live recording of sound effects (including foley tracks) and atmospheres, editing and cleaning production dialogue. The emphasis will be on mixing layered tracks in the creation of a coherent sound mix that is capable of creating and augmenting the emotional drive of a film. Students will learn how to assemble a pre-dub or temp mix, and to create a final dub and mix of broadcast quality for professional delivery. The course will also develop the students ability to collaborate with such members of the production team as the director, composer and music supervisor.
