AY2025/2026 Semester 2
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how artificial intelligence (AI) functions as both a communicator and a mediator in human interaction. Students will critically examine the cognitive and social processes that shape human?AI relationships, as well as the psychological and societal implications of engaging with AI as a communication partner. The course also explores how AI mediates human-human communication, reshaping interpersonal dynamics, collaboration, and meaning-making across diverse contexts. By engaging with case studies and applications in domains such as health, education, politics, and journalism, students will gain insight into the opportunities and challenges of AI-mediated communication. Finally, the course equips students to reflect on the ethical, regulatory, and cultural dimensions of human-AI communication, preparing them to analyze, critique, and responsibly shape the evolving communicative roles of AI in society.
