Global Media Issues Policy
AY2024/2025 Semester 2
This upper-level undergraduate course focusses on policy and legal issues about global media and their relationships with regional and international media, including Singapore. It studies the emergence of transnational digital platforms that dominate news, streaming TV, games, social media, apps, ride hailing, and other services, with innovative uses of data, AI, and Internet of Things. The course provides a state-of-the-art understanding of the surprising new systems of international policy and governance and how they shape contemporary media, culture, and society.
