This course covers the conceptual and technical foundations of geographical information systems (GIS). Topics include basic skills for collecting, storing, manipulating, analysing and presenting geo-spatial data and information, urban and regional planning, natural resource management, environmental planning through the implementation of modern GIS software. The course provides hands-on practical exercises using GIS with real world data.
