This course provides students with a foundation from which to critically examine quantitative and qualitative research designs and strategies. Every effort will be made to place such designs and strategies and their applications in basic or pure and applied settings of physical education and sport. Specifically, the module introduces the student to: the nature of the research process, the use of literature, the definition and evaluation of a research problem, hypothesis formation, scientific investigation and methods, types of research available and abstract and report writing.
