Sport is a socially significant activity for many individuals. Moreover, the sports industry is global, saturates the media, influences young people and is a massive arm of the entertainment industry which generates billions of dollars each year. The influence that such a massive industry plays on society generates a unique set of ethical issues. This course will critically examine a number of the ethical issues surrounding the role of sport in society and ask the student to question and analyse the role of the sport in today?s world.
